Evolution and Ecology of Neotropical Mammals
He is a biologist at the National University of Colombia; he studied the Design and Evaluation of Environmental Projects, together with the Environmental Impact Assessment and Economic Valuation. He has applied them to the audit, investigation, evaluation and assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services. He is building a bridge between the processes of conservation, of biodiversity and sustainable ground management in various ecosystems and communities in various areas of 28 Colombian departments. He has worked with various institutions such as Ministry of Environment, and Sustainable Development, Natural National Parks, National Agency for Overcoming Extreme Poverty (ANSPE), Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (COLCIENCIAS); German Technical Cooperation (GIZ), Latin-American Center for Rural Development (RIMISP), Biocomercio Colombia Fund, Fundación Natura, Naturacert, Dutch Cooperation, USAID and Corporation Econexus, among other private companies in the process of corporate social responsibility.
He was Specialist Advisor to the National Program of the CT+I of Environment Biodiversity and Habitat, and later on of the General System of Royalties in CT+I, within COLCIENCIAS. He is also a consultant for monitoring and evaluation of the Andean Biocomercio for Colombia, funded by the GEF-CAF-PNUMA for three countries; and he is currently the Coordinator of Inter - Institutional Articulation Program of royalties CT+I called "Inclusion of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in the Development Plans and Ground Management in the Department of Vichada" implemented by the Government of Vichada, the National University of Colombia and the Institute Alexander von Humboldt for Biological Resources Research.
He is a professional photographer, convinced that an image with a concept is a complement to the arguments and a powerful communication tool for the needs and processes of conservation and management of biodiversity in the territories and communities. He has won some national and international competitions, and participated in some museum exhibitions on this specific subject. Other topics and interests in his job are Bio Speleology, Ethno Biology, green business mainly Nature Tourism and Economy.
